I’m so excited to share a few of my favorite photos from Emily’s senior portrait session in Denver!
It was only appropriate that we started off Emily’s session at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, since theater played such a huge role in Emily’s high school career.
In fact, Emily’s favorite memories of high school all include theater. From directing a major stage show to designing lights with her best friend, from dancing in the high school musical to taking a final bow at the drama banquet, Emily’s entire senior year at Rock Canyon was filled with so many sweet memories!
After we commemorated Emily’s love of all things theater, we had to head over to Tennyson Street because … art walls! There were so many, and all so colorful and fun — which made them a perfect match for Emily’s vibrant and outgoing personality! (Can you get over her smile??)
And to say we were excited about the ocean wall was an understatement. I didn’t know it before we met, but every single summer since Emily was 2, she’s spent a few weeks each summer at her grandmother’s beach house in Bluffton, South Carolina (near Hilton Head Island).
Emily says she has so many special memories and traditions from these summers that it’s impossible to choose a favorite.
And every year she goes, she has the same bucket list: seeing Shannon Tanner, attending the Beaufort Water Festival, eating at the Crazy Crab, and going on a dolphin tour — those things never get old!
“The beach is my favorite place on earth,” says Emily, “and I honestly walk for miles on the shore collecting shells…. I love seeing my grandma, having time with my family, and celebrating my birthday in my happy place.”
Emily graduated from Rock Canyon High School last year and is now studying at CU Boulder, majoring in International Affairs with a concentration in Asia. Emily, you will be amazing at anything you set your mind to! Hope you have an amazing first year at CU (and many more South Carolina memories too)!
