Emily’s senior session was such a blast! Even though it rained almost the entire time, we had so much fun hanging out under the picnic shelter, zipping out during brief lulls in the rain to capture a few shots.
The rest of the time we shot under the shelter itself, squeezing horses in small spaces next to picnic tables and trying to avoid the gigantic grill that was right in the middle of the very best light.
Believe it or not, I had more images I loved from this session than almost any session I’ve done, which just goes to show that regardless of the weather or how small of a space you have, you can still create beautiful portraits.
And talk about a girl after my own heart! The night before we met, Emily’s mom texted me a photo of Emily baking cookies for our session! And not just any cookies, but shortbread cookies in four flavors, including pink lemonade and caramel latte with Heath bar chips!
I also found out Emily loves to read (she brought along Pride & Prejudice, her favorite), and she makes her own jewelry. The silver and turquoise necklace she’s wearing in a few of these shots is one of her creations.
The thing Emily is most passionate about, though, is horses. Especially these horses. Can I just say I have never met two more animated horses in my life?! H and Sir were so personable and it was obvious they adore Emily as much as she adores them. I think there may be veterinary school in this young lady’s future.
